Zyga SImmetry – The Future of Minimally Invasive SI Joint Fusions to Help Reduce Chronic Pain

“22.5% of low back pain is caused by the Sacroiliac (SI) Joint”*

At Broadway Surgical Institute (BSI) our physicians recognize that Sacroiliac (SI) Joint pain is a debilitating problem that plagues a number of our patients.  As such – BSI has partnered with medical device company Zyga Technologies and Dr. Timothy Davis, Founder of the Center for Spine and Joint Restoration, to hold its first cadaver course dedicated to providing future patients with an alternative treatment option for their SI Joint Pain.

Zyga has helped to create and revolutionize the way Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Pain is treated.  Until now, most SI Joint treatment options were considered too high risk and too invasive for patients to want to proceed.  In addition – the medical outcomes post-operatively often left patients with secondary long-term pain.  Zyga recognized this as an opportunity to focus it’s developmental efforts creating a device and procedure technique commercially available to trained physicians.

Zyga Technology’s SImmetry procedure is safe and reproducible.  The minimally invasive technique “assesses the joint, removes cartilage, decorticates (removes) both cortical surfaces of the joint and then delivers fusion material to the decorticated joint.”  The joint is then prepared and readied for the physician to deliver a material that aids in the stabilization of the musclo-skeletal structure.

The potential of Zyga SImmetry technology will allow patients to reclaim their old lives with a significant reduction in pain.

Broadway Surgical Institute would like the thank Jayson Kamen, Los Angeles Business Developmenet Manager, Zyga Technology for the opportunity to host the Cadaver Course.  According to Kamen, “After considering multiple locations for our companies cadaver training labs we quickly decided on Broadway Surgical Institute for our preferred training site in the Los Angeles market.  The staff at Broadway went above and beyond to ensure our cadaver training event created maximum impact with our clients. I look forward to our next event at Broadway Surgical Institute.”
